The 4th National Conference on Internal Combustion Engines: A Valuable Opportunity to Review and Exchange Scientific Achievements in One of the Most Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences, Combustion Science. From the dawn of humanity when fire was ignited by lightning in nature, to today, when the combustion process in advanced engines is managed discontinuously within a few milliseconds, remarkable progress has been made. Combustion science is a combination of major scientific branches such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, chemistry, and fluid mechanics, and precise management of this process is impossible without a thorough understanding of these sciences. In combustion reactions, fuel, and air combine to produce hundreds of unstable intermediates and dozens of final products. These products, in addition to their environmental impacts, pose challenges such as the emission of greenhouse gases and toxic substances. Today, intelligent combustion management has become possible with significant advances in simulation and engineering calculation methods. These technologies help to reduce pollutant emissions and optimize industrial processes. Fortunately, our country has also reached a significant level of knowledge and capability in the field of combustion science, and national achievements are showcased in conferences such as the National Conference on Internal Combustion Engines. This conference provides a platform for experts, researchers, and industrialists in the field of internal combustion engines to come together, exchange information, and create a platform for technological advancement and the application of scientific results in industrial production. These efforts are hoped to lead to technological development and better service to society.
